What used to live on parenting blogs has crossed into the design press. For a buyer, that shift changes what is worth sourcing: a baby hooded towel or baby bathrobe is no longer just bath kit, it is part of a room a parent has curated.

What most manufacturers do with the trend

They take cheap, thin base cloth. Add an embroidered giraffe. An appliqué. A pom-pom. It looks great in the product photo. By wash three, the fabric has gone limp and the “premium” piece looks like what it always was.
