What Is Zero Twist Construction?

In conventional terry weaving, cotton fibres are tightly twisted into yarn before weaving. Zero twist towels use untwisted cotton yarn held together during the weaving process by a water-soluble PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) binder. On the first wash, the PVA dissolves completely, allowing the individual cotton fibres to fully open and fan outwards. The result is an exceptionally voluminous, cloud-like loop structure with a dramatically larger surface area per gram of cotton — the reason zero twist towels are noticeably softer and more absorbent than anything produced with conventional yarn.

Zero twist construction delivers 20–30% higher moisture absorbency compared to conventional ring-spun terry at the same GSM.
